NEWS: DELTA STATE GOVERNMENT PROPOSES 2026 BUDGET.

Delta State Government has proposed a budget of over ₦1 trillion for the 2026 fiscal year, prioritizing infrastructure, education, and healthcare. The budget allocates 67% to capital expenditure and 33% to recurrent expenditure, showcasing the government’s commitment to development and growth.

Significant reduction in public debt, creating room for sustainable growth
Steady growth in IGR through improved compliance, blocked leakages, and expanded tax net

The government has engaged citizens and community leaders in the budget preparation process, demonstrating transparency and participatory governance. The budget aims to consolidate socio-economic and infrastructural development, aligning with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda for meaningful development, opportunities, and enhanced peace and security.
