Senator Ede Dafinone has indeed urged calmness and swift action in addressing the child abduction crisis in Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
He expressed deep concern over the rising cases of child abductions, with over six children missing in recent months, and called on the Delta State Police Command and relevant federal agencies to intensify investigations and strengthen patrols to dismantle networks behind these abductions.
Senator Dafinone urged the police to work closely with the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
He also encouraged community leaders to maintain vigilance through neighborhood watches, parental awareness, and partnerships with schools to prevent further abductions.
Senator Ede Dafinone also condemned the recent mob lynching of a woman accused of attempted kidnapping, emphasizing that such acts of vigilantism only deepen the crisis and risk innocent lives.
“While the frustration of the people is understandable, jungle justice is not the solution taking the law into our own hands risks the lives of innocent persons and further undermines our collective pursuit of justice.” He warned.
The senator extended his condolences to the grieving families and pledged to continue pressing for answers and justice at the highest levels of government.
“Every missing child is a future we cannot afford to lose. I share in your pain, and I will not relent until safety is restored to Agbarho and all of Delta Central” The Senator vowed.
