VeryDarkMan (VDM) has mobilized the Ratel Movement for a nationwide community service initiative in Nigeria. The movement aims to address environmental decay and promote patriotism among young Nigerians through monthly community sanitation activities like cleaning public spaces, clearing blocked drainages, rehabilitating school facilities and grassroots community services.
The initiative, which kicks off on November 29, 2025, seeks to make a positive impact on society and promote a sense of responsibility among Nigerian youths. VDM emphasized that the Ratel Movement is shifting from online activism to real-life, hands-on projects that directly impact communities.
“Starting from the 29th of November, 2025, which will be on a Saturday, we the Ratel Movement are taking over Nigeria, we are shutting down this country.
That being said, we are not shutting down in terms of violence, we are shutting it down in terms of impact,”
We are going to start what has never been seen before in Nigeria. We are going to be moving from just being on social media claiming to be Ratels to presenting ourselves in real life and impacting our society,” VDM said on a Facebook viral video on Wednesday September 24.
The Ratel Movement has garnered significant support online, with many Nigerians praising VDM’s initiative as a positive step towards community development and youth engagement. This move is seen as a new chapter in VDM’s activism, transitioning from social media criticism to tangible community service.
