Manchester United beat Chelsea 2-1 in a thrilling Premier League match at Old Trafford, with Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez sent off in the fifth minute for a foul on Bryan Mbeumo. This early red card significantly impacted the game, with Chelsea Manager Enzo Maresca resorting to removing his two wingers Young Brazilian sensation Estevao and Pedro Neto were sacrificed for Sanchez’s error as they were substituted in the fifth minute for Filip Jorgensen and Tosin Adarabioyo respectively inorder to solidify the defence. To worsen things for the Blues, Star player Cole Palmer was forced off with an injury in the sixteenth minute leaving Chelsea with no attacking threat in the game.

The changes allow Manchester United to dominate and score two first-half goals.

Fernandes scored his 100th goal for the club in his 200th Premier League appearance with a poacher’s finish after Patrick Dorgu’s header across the goal.
Casemiro doubled United’s lead with a header from Luke Shaw’s cross but received a second yellow card for bringing down Andrey Santos just before halftime, levelled the playing field.

Trevoh Chalobah pulled one back for Chelsea with a header from Reece James’ cross with 10 minutes remaining, but United held on for the win.
Alejandro Garnacho who recently joined Chelsea from Manchester United was left on the bench by Maresca who decided to bring on Tyrique George and Malo Gusto despite the Argentine being seen warming up and receiving instructions from the Manager early in the second half.
Robert Sanchez’s red card was Chelsea’s earliest ever in a Premier League game.
Casemiro became the first player to score and be sent off in the first half of a Premier League match since Emmanuel Adebayor in 2012.
This victory marked Manchester United’s second win of the season, while Chelsea remains without a win at Old Trafford since 2013.
