NEWS: 9 KILLED, MANY INJURED IN CRASHES IN DELTA STATE.

Tragedy struck Ogwashi-Uku Junction in Delta State, Nigeria, where nine people lost their lives and several others were injured in a series of fatal road crashes. The accidents occurred late in the evening, with the first crash claiming two lives, and a subsequent crash involving a speeding Toyota Sienna rammed into a crowd of sympathizers, killing seven more people.

Residents expressed outrage, citing lack of proper traffic management and emergency response units at the accident-prone spot.
“If there were proper traffic management and timely intervention, this wouldn’t have escalated into such a calamity,” one eyewitness at the scene said.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) provided a conflicting account, stating that their records showed a crash involving a truck and a G.O. Motors vehicle, but no confirmed deaths at Ogwashi-Uku Junction.
Community leaders are urging the Delta State Government and relevant authorities to address lapses in traffic management and road safety enforcement.
