NEWS: PROTESTS IN AGBARHO OVER ABDUCTION OF CHILDREN.

Hundreds of women in Agbarho, Delta State, recently staged a protest against the continuous abduction and disappearance of children in their community. The protesters blocked major roads and the popular Five Junction, bringing business activities to a halt. They demanded urgent action from the state governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, and the Delta State Police Command to address the rising cases of child abductions.

The protesters claimed that dozens of children have gone missing or been abducted in the past year, with some cases allegedly happening on a weekly basis. Parents are living in constant fear, especially with the resumption of schools for the new academic session. The community leader’s child was among those abducted, further fueling the community’s frustration.

The protesters vowed to continue their demonstration until the missing children are rescued. They demanded increased security measures to prevent further abductions.

The community is holding the state government and security agencies accountable for the rising insecurity.
The Osuvie of Agbarho Kingdom had previously demanded the removal of the Divisional Police Officer over rising insecurity in the town.

Stella Okotete, Executive Director of Nexim Bank, condemned the abductions and vowed to bring the issue to the attention of the state and federal government.
The situation remains tense, with the community seeking justice and safety for their children.
