SPORTS: MBAPPE NOT ANXIOUS ABOUT WINNING CHAMPIONS LEAGUE – XABI ALONSO.

Real Madrid’s coach, Xabi Alonso, has stated that Kylian Mbappe doesn’t feel anxious about winning the Champions League. According to Alonso, Mbappe views the Champions League title as part of a long-term project, and he’s focused on the journey rather than the destination.

Alonso mentioned that Mbappe is part of the team working towards winning the title, but he doesn’t seem anxious about it.

Mbappe recently joined Real Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain and has already made a significant impact, scoring four goals in four La Liga matches the season. Despite his impressive form, Alonso believes Mbappe isn’t fixated on winning the Champions League this season. Instead, he’s focused on contributing to the team’s progress.

“He’s not anxious, we all feel this is a project that’s just starting, One of the objectives is to win the Champions League hopefully sooner rather than later, Kylian is part of the path to getting there, but I don’t think he’s anxious.

Today we spoke about what the Champions League means, but we were not talking about May (and the final), we were talking about the near future.” Xabi Alonso told the media ahead of Real Madrid’s 2025/26 UEFA Champions League League phase opener against Marseille at the Estadio Barnabeu on Tuesday, September 16.

It’s worth noting that Mbappe’s former club, Paris Saint-Germain, recently won the Champions League title, but Mbappe expressed that he didn’t want them to win because he wants to achieve the title himself with Real Madrid.
