The Dangote Refinery is set to begin free direct supply of petrol to filling stations across Nigeria on Monday, September 15, 2025.
The refinery has slashed petrol prices to N841 per litre in Lagos and the South West, while Abuja, Edo, Kwara, Rivers, and Delta states will have a price of N851 per litre.
The free delivery scheme will start with 11 states, including Lagos, Abuja, Kwara, Delta, Rivers, and Edo, with plans to expand to other states nationwide.
“We are starting the free fuel distribution scheme on Monday. We will start with Lagos and the South West, Abuja, Kwara, Delta, Rivers and Edo States. There will be a drop in price effective on Monday when the free distribution starts,” Dangote group said.
Dangote has acquired 4,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered trucks to enhance logistics and reduce distribution costs, with a target of 10,000 trucks by the end of the year.
The Dangote Group is investing over N720 billion into the program, which aims to revitalize dormant filling stations and benefit over 42 million micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Petrol station owners are invited to register for free delivery and other benefits associated with the new initiative.
This move is expected to boost economic activity, reduce fuel distribution costs, and ease inflationary pressures. The refinery’s initiative marks a significant step toward stabilizing Nigeria’s fuel supply chain and advancing its energy security ambitions.
