NEWS: 15 JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES MEMBERS KILLED BY TRAILER IN IMO.

A tragic accident occurred on Monday, September 8, 2025, at Awomama Bridge in Imo State, Nigeria, claiming the lives of 15 Jehovah’s Witness members. The victims, all from Agwa community in Oguta Local Government Area, were returning from their annual Jehovah’s Witness Assembly Convention in Uli, Anambra State, when their bus collided with a trailer driving against traffic around 6:45 p.m..

Oguta local government area chairman Ifeanyi Nnani expressed shock and sorrow over the incident, describing it as a “dark moment” for the community. He commiserated with the bereaved families and prayed for God’s comfort.


The Mazi Progressive Network (MPN) and Renaissance Oguta Constituency (ROC) also expressed grief, urging the federal and state governments to fix road infrastructure in the state to prevent avoidable tragedies.

The police are investigating the cause of the collision.
The remains of the victims have been deposited in a morgue for identification and burial arrangements.
Faith leaders have called for prayers and solidarity for the grieving families, urging worshippers to remain strong despite the painful loss.
