Multichoice Nigeria temporarily suspended the broadcast of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) due to a power glitch on Friday, September 5, 2025. The company assured viewers that the housemates were safe and sound while technical experts worked to restore normal service.
The transmission was halted due to a power-related issue.
Multichoice’s technical team worked swiftly to resolve the problem.
Viewers were encouraged to “grab a snack, stretch your legs” while waiting for the broadcast to resume. “We’re currently experiencing a temporary break in Big Brother Naija transmission due to a power issue rest assured, the housemates are safe and sound our technical team is working swiftly to restore power and normal service.
Thank you for your patience,” the company shared the public notice on its Instagram handle.
The show is currently in its 10th season, which started on July 26, 2025. The housemates are competing for a grand prize of ₦150 million.
BBNaija is broadcast on DStv and GOtv, with fans outside Africa able to follow the show on Showmax or official social media accounts.
