Mike Premium, a talent manager handling Phyna’s case, has come forward to clarify that the reality star never demanded ₦ 1 billion from the Dangote Group as compensation for her sister’s accident. Instead, Phyna’s primary request was for her sister, Ruth, to be flown abroad for medical treatment after a Dangote truck accident led to severe injuries, including the amputation of one leg.
Phyna wanted her sister to receive advanced medical care abroad, specifically in India, as local treatment options were deemed insufficient.
Ruth Otabor was involved in an accident with a Dangote cement truck on August 13, 2025, in Auchi, Edo State, just 6 days after graduating from Auchi’s Polytechnic the accident resulted in severe injuries and the amputation of one leg.
Phyna claimed the Dangote representative she was communicating with went silent after initially promising to handle the case with transparency.
Ruth suffered severe injuries, including fluid in her lungs, crushed reproductive organs, a burst bladder, and damage to her chest, pelvis, and lower trunk.
She was in coma till she was comfirmed dead.
The Dangote Group issued a statement expressing grief over the incident and promising full support for Ruth’s medical care and compensation according to their welfare policy.

he first and most urgent demand was that her sister be flown abroad for emergency medical treatment, because it was Clear from the beginning that her condition required advanced care that wasn’t available locally.
But instead of receiving compassion and immediate action, she was met with delays, excuses and now… tragedy.
