TRANSFER NEWS: BONIFACE JOINS WERDER BREMEN

Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has joined Werder Bremen on a season-long loan from Bayer Leverkusen. Both clubs have announced

Werder Bremen will cover part of Boniface’s salary as part of the agreement, and the loan deal is set to last until June 2026.

Boniface had a stellar season with Bayer Leverkusen last year, scoring 21 goals and providing 9 assists, helping the team secure their first-ever Bundesliga title. However, he became the third-choice striker this season, prompting him to seek more game time.

The striker had previously been linked to moves to AC Milan and Al Nassr, but those deals fell through due to concerns over his fitness and a reported failed medical test.

Werder Bremen’s head coach, Horst Steffen, is confident that Boniface will be a key player for the team, praising his physical strength, finishing ability, and pace.

The 24-year-old Nigerian forward expressed his excitement about the move, stating that he’s eager to contribute to the team’s success and achieve common goals.

With this move, Boniface joins fellow Super Eagles star Felix Agu at Werder Bremen, and fans will be looking forward to seeing him in action
