MLS: SEATTLE SOUNDERS TRASH LEO MESSI’S INTER MIAMI IN LEAGUES CUP FINAL.

Seattle Sounders made history by defeating Inter Miami 3-0 in the Leagues Cup final, claiming their first Leagues Cup title and becoming the first MLS club to win every major North American trophy. The match saw Osaze De Rosario score in the 26th minute, followed by Alex Roldan’s penalty kick in the second half, and Paul Rothrock sealing the win with a late goal.

The game was played before a record crowd of 69,314 at Lumen Field, surpassing the previous Leagues Cup record of 50,675.
Despite Inter Miami’s star-studded lineup, led by Lionel Messi, the Sounders’ organized defense held strong, smothering Miami’s attack.
Tempers flared after the final whistle, with officials intervening to break up a scuffle involving players and staff from both teams. Luis Suarez was seen spitting at a Seattle staff member, which could lead to further disciplinary action.

The victory marked a significant milestone for the Seattle Sounders, who already owned two MLS Cup crowns, an MLS Supporters’ Shield, four U.S. Open Cups, and a CONCACAF Champions Cup.

Coach Brian Schmetzer expressed his delight, acknowledging the magnitude of the win against one of the world’s best teams, featuring the legendary Lionel Messi.
