Twilight Saga Returning to Cinemas This October

Devoted Twilight fans will soon have the chance to step back into the world of Bella Swan, Edward Cullen, and Jacob Black, as Lionsgate has confirmed that The Twilight Saga will return to theaters this October.

The announcement, shared on the studio’s official social channels Wednesday, featured Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner with the tagline “Forever Begins Again.” Though exact screening dates are yet to be revealed, Lionsgate hinted more details will follow on Thursday.

Inspired by Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling novels, the five-part series traces Bella’s journey of love and danger after she discovers Edward’s secret identity as a vampire, while her bond with Jacob—who belongs to a rival werewolf clan—further complicates her choices. The saga spans five films: Twilight (2008), New Moon (2009), Eclipse (2010), Breaking Dawn – Part 1 (2011), and Breaking Dawn – Part 2 (2012).

What began as a modestly budgeted teen fantasy quickly turned into a global juggernaut. The first film alone grossed $408.4 million worldwide, propelling its cast into international superstardom. Collectively, the franchise went on to generate over $3.3 billion at the global box office.

Alongside the central trio, the ensemble featured Billy Burke, Elizabeth Reaser, Peter Facinelli, Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene, Jackson Rathbone, Anna Kendrick, and others.

More than a decade later, the saga continues to resonate, fueled by nostalgic rewatches, viral memes, and an enduringly passionate fan base. An animated television reboot is also currently in development.

Reflecting on the franchise’s longevity during its 15th anniversary, director Catherine Hardwicke remarked: “Everyone longs for that intoxicating rush of a first love—it’s irresistible. That’s the energy I wanted to capture in the film.”
