PSG Sign Nigeria’s Rasheedat Ajibade on Contract Until 2027
Paris Saint-Germain have bolstered their attack with the signing of Nigerian international Rasheedat Ajibade on a contract running until June 30, 2027.
The club announced the move in a statement on Tuesday, confirming the arrival of the 25-year-old striker from Atlético de Madrid, where she had played since 2021 following a spell in Norway with Avaldsnes IL.
“Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to announce the arrival of Nigerian striker Rasheedat Busayo Ajibade, who has joined the club on a deal that runs until June 30, 2027,” PSG said.
Ajibade, born in Lagos’s Mushin district in December 1999, enjoyed a strong 2024–25 season with Atlético, recording eight goals and three assists in 25 appearances. She was previously named Nigeria’s NFF Young Player of the Year in 2018 after her emergence at FC Robo Queens.
As captain of the Super Falcons, Ajibade has twice lifted the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, in 2018 and 2024. She was also a regular starter at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and featured prominently at the 2024 Paris Olympics. With more than 30 international caps, she has established herself as a key figure in Nigerian football.
Expressing her delight, Ajibade said: “I’m deeply honoured to be joining Paris Saint-Germain, a top-drawer club in Europe. This is a major step for me, and I’m committed to giving my all to help PSG win titles and to inspire young footballers, whether in Nigeria or elsewhere.”
