Mohamed Salah is reportedly set to leave Liverpool

Liverpool fans might start preparing for life after Mohamed Salah who recently signed a contract extension at the end of the 2024/25 season.

The Egyptian King was linked with a move away from Liverpool to Saudi Arabia towards the end of last season. However, the hierarchy of the club were able to convince Mohamed Salah to a contract extension.

However, Football Transfer confirmed in an exclusive news reported on its website on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 that Salah will not stay until the end of his contract. According to reports, the forward player will leave in 2026 to join a club in Saudi Arabia.

What did Salah say about joining the Saudi Arabian league?

Salah has never hidden his love for Saudi Arabia, and he spoke about this in May 2025.

“I thought there was a good opportunity to join the Saudi League. I believed I might go there if I didn’t renew my contract with Liverpool. My relationship with people there [in Saudi Arabia] is still good and ongoing. There were serious negotiations to sign me. Liverpool fans were part of the contract renewal process they put pressure on the management because I’ve been at the club for seven years. From day one, I knew they wanted me to stay.”

Unless there is a major change, Salah will leave Liverpool next summer as one of the greatest players to ever play at Anfield.
