Benjamin Sesko makes decision on Manchester United vs Newcastle transfer choice

Benjamin Sesko has made his decision on which club he will play for between Manchester United and Newcastle United at the start of the 2025/26 football season.

Newcastle submitted € 75million plus €5 million in add-ons, before raising it to €80 million on Monday. On the other hand, Manchester United made a proposal of their own worth €75m plus €10m.

There are several reports that Sesko wants to join Manchester United and all parties are now aware of that, as talks advance to satisfy Leipzig’s expectations. However, there is no club-to-club agreement yet, but the situation is moving in that direction.

The Slovenia forward prefers the Red Devils despite Newcastle’s readiness to pay a higher fee and provide Champions League football. Sesko scored 21 goals in all competitions last season for Leipzig and has recorded 39 goals and eight assists in 87 appearances for the German club since signing from RB Salzburg in 2023.

This decision means that Liverpool might not get Alexander Isak from Newcastle who has been on the radar of the Reds in the past few weeks.

On the other hand, Manchester United have brought in forwards Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, while teenage left-back Diego Leon has joined from Cerro Porteno.
