NFF budgets N17.6b for 2025 activities

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has budgeted N17.6 billion for its activities for the 2025 season. The budget was approved by the body ’s Congress which sat in Asaba, the Delta State capital on Friday.

According to sportsvillagesquare.com, by the current exchange rate, the approved budget which is $10,591,610 is higher than the N12 billion that Nigeria budgeted for the Paris 2024 Olympics where no medal was won as well as the Paralympic Games where Team Nigeria returned with a total of nine medals, 5 gold.

The NFF programme for next year includes the six remaining qualifying matches for the 2026 World Cup, the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, the Morocco 2025 Africa Cup of Nations as well as the African Nations Championship, CHAN which will be held in December and February respectively if the Super Eagles and CHAN Eagles qualify.

Apart from approving the budget, the Congress commended the efforts of Nigeria’s national teams, especially the Super Eagles for their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations’ silver medal feat and the Super Falcons for their participation in the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament after 16 years.

It also passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of the Executive Committee led by Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau for their ongoing efforts in promoting football development across Nigeria.
